Swags workshop

Service Description

Swags are one of the oldest Christmas decorations there is — long before wreaths took over the front door, people brought evergreens indoors at midwinter as a promise that the year would turn again. Holly, ivy, pine: all things that stay green when nothing else does. You'll make a layered swag of seasonal greenery with dried fruit, cones and berries, finished with a large bow. Beautiful on a door, and equally right laid on a grave — there's an eco version suitable for churchyards and natural burial grounds. You'll learn wiring, and how to make a proper bow. You'll be working with natural materials and getting your hands dirty, so do bring gloves and an apron, and secateurs or scissors. Refreshments included. Everything we use is seasonal, so the exact flowers and foliage on the day depend on what's at its best and what's in stock that week. No two sessions are ever quite the same. Please note: our workshops take place upstairs in The Cosy Space at Tysoe Post Office, accessed by stairs.
