Slow down, make something beautiful: your guide to The Cosy Space autumn workshops
Updated: Oct 7
There's a particular kind of quiet that settles over a room when people are busy with their hands. Nobody is checking their phone. The conversation drifts in and out. Someone laughs at a stubborn bit of wire. And at the end of it all, everyone stands back and looks at something they made themselves.
That's what The Cosy Space is for.
What is The Cosy Space?
The Cosy Space is a small corner of Tysoe Post Office, set aside for workshops, pop-ups and relaxed gatherings. It sits under the same roof as the Post Office counter and Hope & Glory Flowers on Main Street.
I spent years in hospitality before coming back to flowers, and I've always loved making places where people feel looked after. The Cosy Space brings both of those things together: a warm welcome, and time to make something with seasonal flowers and natural materials.
This autumn's workshops:
Pumpkin Workshop — Saturday 17 October, 9.30–11.30, £50 morning to get properly seasonal. We'll work with autumn materials to make a pumpkin piece for your table or doorstep.
Children's Halloween Session, ages 4–10 — Wednesday 28 October, 10.30–12, £10. A hands-on half-term session for little ones. It's messy in the best way, gently guided, and they'll go home with something they're proud of.
Christmas Wreaths — Saturday 28 November, 9.30–11.30, £50. The one people book year after year. You'll make a traditional wreath for your front door on a natural base, with no floral foam and no plastic.
Swags workshop — Saturday 5 December, 1.30–3, £42. A festive swag is a lovely alternative to a wreath. Hang it on your door, or make it for a loved one's grave at Christmas.
Do I need any experience?
None at all. Most people who come have never made anything with flowers before. I'll show you each step, and there's always a helping hand when you need it.
Why foam-free?
Floral foam is a single-use plastic. It doesn't break down and it can't be recycled. Everything we make in The Cosy Space uses natural bases like moss, twigs and twine, so your finished piece can go on the compost when it's done.
What should I bring?
A pair of sharp scissors, and a willingness to learn something new.
Booking
Groups are kept small so everyone gets time and attention, which means places do go. You can book online here or pop in to the Post Office, or ring 01295 680632.
A workshop place also makes a thoughtful gift. It's time out, a new skill and something beautiful for the home, all in one morning.
I'd love to see you by the bench this autumn.
