A new chapter, same front door

The new website is live as is our first workshop.
If you’ve been in for stamps this week, you’ll have noticed that not much has changed.
Same counter. Same Friday-morning queue. Same dogs wandering around, waiting patiently.
Behind the scenes, though, quite a lot has. We’ve just launched a new website: hopeandgloryflowercompany.co.uk. It’s the first time everything we do here has lived in one place — the Post Office counter, the flowers and The Cosy Space upstairs.
Seeing it all written down made me realise just how much this little building has taken on.
Why now?
For a long time, I thought of the flowers and the Post Office as two separate things. People would come in to collect a parcel and be surprised to find buckets of dahlias by the door. Or they’d order a funeral tribute without realising we also helped with passport forms and Post Office services.
Eventually, it stopped making sense to keep everything separate.
They’re not really two businesses. They’re one village shop that happens to do rather a lot.
So the new website says that plainly:
More than a Post Office - Because that’s what it is.
What you’ll find on the website
This is the work I care most about getting right.
Everything is made without floral foam, using seasonal flowers and natural materials wherever possible. If you’ve ever wondered what happens to a wreath after a service, the answer is often landfill — but it doesn’t have to be.
There’s now a page that explains how I work, so you don’t have to make a phone call and ask all the questions during what may already be the worst week of your life.
Seasonal, thoughtful and led by whatever is actually beautiful that month — rather than a mood board put together in January.
I work with natural materials and seasonal flowers to create wedding flowers that feel personal to the people getting married and connected to the time of year.
Upstairs, there’s a warm little space for workshops, pop-ups and small gatherings.
Somewhere to sit down for a few hours, learn something new and make something with your hands.
You’ll also find the useful, everyday information about the Post Office — opening hours, services and all the things you might otherwise have to read from a laminated sign in the window.
The first workshop is From Flower to Vase, taking place on 25 September at The Cosy Space in Tysoe.
This is a relaxed, hands-on introduction to arranging flowers, covering everything from preparing and conditioning your stems to choosing the right vase and creating an arrangement that works in your home.
You’ll learn:
How to condition cut flowers so they last longer
Simple professional tips for caring for flowers at home
How to choose and work with different vase styles
How to create a beautiful arrangement without using Oasis floral foam
You’ll make your own arrangement to take home, and refreshments will be provided.
Please bring a pair of sharp scissors to use during the workshop.
Tickets are £45 and you can book your place online now.
There are more workshops planned for November and December, including seasonal sessions and Christmas makes. I’ll add the dates to the website as soon as they’re confirmed.

The website may be new, but the rest of it isn’t. It’s still the same building, the same front door and the same slightly overloaded workbench out the back.
